Is the joke an attempt at modesty or in a meta sense, people put all their skill points into rifle shooting? So her exceptional accuracy to a layman is actually not very good by comparison?

at that range she does not have very high accuracy, assuming she can see down those sights at all. its exceptionally difficult to judge what her eyes are pointing at. in-universe though a 100 rifles would be doing it blindfolded one handed shooting over their shoulder sort of thing so maybe its both.

she's not even bad but a decent hobbyist level, dabbling is a suitable description. if she grew up innawastes maybe she'd have more practical experience and being a gunslinging trick shooting cowboy is presented as much better in-universe without needing to be meta.
