Our garage looked like a warehouse for tacky cookware, worthless collectibles, and miracle skin creams that all expired before anyone opened them.

Meanwhile, my dad was grinding himself into dust, working two full time jobs, barely sleeping, trying to keep the lights on. But it was never enough. He was too much of a coward to put his foot down and tell her no. Just silently suffered while she drowned us in boxes of useless shit.

We ended up broke because my mom couldn’t resist “5 easy payments of $19.99." A Childhood destroyed by gaudy jewelry and a mountain of As Seen On TV junk.
