Yeah back then MTV in my country and one local tv station were the only places pre-internet with good speed where anime wasn't treated as kiddie stuff to be censored as soon as pta parents clutched their pearls.

Yes, I was ravenous for anime as a kid and consumed basically everything on YTV and Teletoon: Medabots, Sailor Moon, Monster Rancher, Inuyasha, Escaflowne, Gundam Wing, Cardcaptor Sakura, Power Stone, .hack//Sign, Hamtaro, etc.
In retrospect it's actually really amazing to think of just how spoiled for choice kids were even with basic cable when it came to anime. There was tons of it. I've looked at broadcasting schedules nowadays and there's fucking nothing - you have to get some kind of streaming service or just steal it if you want to watch anime nowadays.
