I see people repeating this a lot and it’s kind of misleading. Yes, the movie was made in heavy collaboration with F1 but it wasn’t written, conceived, or pitched as such. It was just a racing movie. When Apple won the bidding war, they were able to secure a deal to use the actual F1 name and likeness. If this specific scenario didn’t happen, it would just have been taking place in a fictional racing league that uses an F1-like format. It’s not like Transformers or Barbie that were literally created with the intention of promoting a brand. (Although I’m sure F1 enjoyed the exposure of having a major Hollywood movie showing off their brand, which is why they signed off on the licensing on the first place)

Good is a low bar, the first Alba one had a believable Mr Fantastic, a cool Johnny and a couple memorable moments with The Thing, and a fantastic casting of Doom (I fully get if you hate how incredibly toned down Doom was as a character).
I don't need to watch it more than once a decade, but it's a fun flick and I'll be showing my daughters it eventually. (It's just naturally not that high on the list)

Inflation, where you believe the guy who shit himself or the orange man, is still a factor for everyday Americans and Hollywood alike. Production houses need to get lean in their contracts w/ actors, strive to produce movies w/ special effects and practical effects rather than depend on heavy CGI, and FOR THE LOVE OF FUCK start writing good stories w/ airtight narratives and plot devices that work rather than telling the audience to MAKE IT WORK IN YOUR IMAGINATION
