It's very far from perfect, but it has the best take on vampires in a while (possibly ever), is thoroughly entertaining and incredibly fresh.
For me this movie suffers the same problems as Prometheus - there's a skeleton of a profound, heady film underneath a popcorn blockbuster circus. But maybe I'm wrong and that's the best we can get.

Not a racist, but I found it tacky and patronising. Just one example - the "spirits from the future" scene had that annoying voiceover layered on top of it (as if we forgot the text from beginning of the film), proving that the creators see its intended audience as lowbrow and low attention span. If I were black I'd probably find that offensive

It's a good flick but modern filmmakers cannot help but shove their dumb politics into movies.
