>movie level budgets/production but the plot only moves on the premiere and finale.
>6-8 episode seasons
>halfway through the season is a pointless flashback episode
>the season will just suddenly end leaving the interesting stuff for the start of next season
>next season isn’t for 2-3 years

Why is tv like this now? Don’t tell me it’s because of cgi, they greenlit Jurassic World Rebirth in 2024 and it was out the next year.

I wish the first point was true, TV still feels cheap to me even when they pour a bunch of money into it. If anything they blow all their effort and budget on one or two set pieces a season and the rest just stands out as a lesser quality

TV should've never been anything more than sitcoms and anthology dramas

A lot of TV is just long movies now. Seems like most of these projects were just shelved movie ideas that needed to be extended to a "season", but 12 episodes would be too thin and 3-4 can't really qualify as a proper series. Problem being that either the series coordinators or writers just don't know how to split/stretch a 2hr movie into 8 episodes.

>"we don't need old white dudes with at least 20 years of experience to make practical effects, build good sets, make good fight choreographies, good costumes, good props, have good audio mixers, good camera placements, good lighting, etc etc, we can fix it all in post production no matter who we hire!"
>hire idiots who fumble through things and need x10 the time and money of the old guard workers to make subpar shit
>post production can't perform miracles and has the same problems as above
>ship it all to Sunkeesh IT farms in Mumbai and call it a day

most of it is just plain old money laundering. everybody can tell by the cheap sets (if it's not just greenscreen), the cheap costumes (if they aren't wearing street clothes), the cheap or non-existent special effects, the cheap lighting, the cheap cinematography, etc - that obviously these productions aren't worth tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars

i'd say 30% at least and possibly 50-60% at worst, the money is just being smoke-screened and ending up in a couple jew producers' pockets

so a third or more of all your money goes to some foreskin eater who doesn't even do anything, another third or more goes to the handful of "legacy" actors you hired to carry your piece of shit show, and the final bit is squandered in the fruitless toil of a bunch of diversity hires that don't have a single fucking clue how to write, cast, act, direct, rig lights, build sets, digitally generate sets and effects, etc etc

i'd say i'm honestly amazed anything even comes out at all anymore but from what i've seen the rate that new western media has come out has dropped dramatically and the shit we're actually getting out of the pipe is literally unwatchable trash for retarded faggots like 9 out of 10 times

Streaming removed the constraints that kept shit under control.

>no longer have to fit a designated block of time
>no longer have to fill a network schedule
>no longer have to pretend the viewer doesn't remember what happened
>no longer have to be profitable
>no longer able to tie actors down for multiple years
