It's not really about pornography in the sexual sense, it's about pornography in the sense that the subject matter is vulgar and morally corrupt. But that's the point. Human beings DO want to see these things even if no one wants to admit it. Traditionally these kinds of stories and media would have been relegated to some seedy book store or red light theater, but Tarantino makes them with such high production values that they can be presented to a mainstream audience in a mainstream theater, and make ungodly amounts of money doing it.
