Not really. Joker's antics with the mobsters is stupid as fuck and the final act is terrible. Not to mention Bamham being largely irrelevant for 90% of the film, and also being a hypocritical douchebag. 6/10. One song does not make an album, one performance a movie.
>>213801325 (OP) >>213801565 begins had the best gotham and i don't know why nolan strayed away from it. the weird, almost futuristic look is cool and i'm surprised he didn't continue it with TDK, which really just looks like chicago nolan got lazy as fuck with TDKR, gotham looks like shit there.
In the case of the Joker, it remains a weakness in the script, because a real police station would never have left a criminal of this caliber free to move around, alone with a simple unarmed police officer.
>>213801434 Hes a 20 year man, he knows the difference between the uhm smth scum and the freaks like the joker who would just enjoy it.

>>213801325 (OP) Massive downgrade from Begins which actually made sure Gotham has its own grimy vibe.
And Rises is just egregious, they needed Gotham to be an island for Bane's retarded takeover to work so they just gave up and kept showing us the Manhattan skyline
>Tfw hated the plot and characters of the Reeves movie but loved the aesthetics Maybe someday some asshole will figure out how to get both right

>>213801848 Call me a retard, but I don't get your picrel. Looks like a generic recent development.
>>213801325 (OP) Okay Iโll be that guy and play devils advocate. I think the Chicago, normal city thing works for the Dark Knight especially with its version of the joker doing a whole domestic terrorism thing. It doesnโt need to be super stylized like 89 or Begins because Joker kinda takes the reins on that within the movie. The normal city juxtaposed to a terrorist clown works because the city is not wacky or overtly dark.
>>213801934 Exactly, it's a generic modern city development with no distinct identity. You'll find the exact same buildings in Vancouver, Sao Paulo, LA, London and Warsaw.
It's a jab at Nolan replacing sets that actually feel like they come from the movie's universe with generic modern city spaces

>>213802037 I really liked The Batman. Liked it more than The Dark Knight Rises and Dark Knight.
Gotham in BB is a million times better than TDK or TDRK. TDK was just Chicago and TDKR was just LA and New York City. Nolan didn't even try to make his filming locations look like Gotham in the comics or Batman animated series. Watching TDKR in IMAX took me right out of the movie everytime a wide shot of LA was shown. Gotham is supposed to look like a run down city from the early 20th century not like a run down Democrat shithole in the 21st century
The Dark Knight is a shite movie people pretend to like because Ledger heroed. That said, his suicide is odd;Malcolm McDowell played a similar character without killing himself. The film has laughable action, boring characters, dumb dialogue, and a nonsensical idiot plot full of bored idiots.
IRL mob would have just shot the joker and be done with

>>213801734 This is a fictional police station though which knows some of its members are corrupt. He's there as much to prevent anyone from getting in, as there are two doors on either end and it takes a bit to make it all the way around the outside. And he's not necessarily unarmed, Joker just doesn't need a gun after he has the glass to his neck.
