it may seem at first glance like he just fucked the demon because she looked like angelina jolie, but watch it again and it's pretty obvious he implicitly realizes he is going to be slaughtered if he tries to fight her. she literally melts his sword down to useless molten slag just by running her fingers over it. she can shapeshift, appear and disappear, give birth to unstoppable creatures, and is seemingly immortal - he never had a chance and at least half of his boner was the subdued fear that he's either going to have to fuck her or die
at least, that's the way i always saw it. she was an unbeatable enemy and rather than be killed he "conquered" her in a different way that at least satisfied his shame long enough to put off his entire life until he literally had to 1v1 a dragon as a consequence of his failure to fight and kill her. if anything she's not even a real, physical entity you COULD kill - she's more like the abstract force of greed, pride, and lust, eternally dooming great men to fall in hubris.

he clearly didnt then, since that was a monster and she defeated him by mind power. he was merely capable in the strength aspect but ultimately he failed his duty right then and there, losing to her.
it reminds me of how in old germanic tribes there was a ritual for ending disputes with someone who wronged you or whatnot. "challenging them to a duel" type thing to work it out. but the cool thing is, there was typed of duels. not just, who can beat the other. but, who can climb the highest, who can make the most witty insult, etc... these not only allowed the brute warriors to be the victors but the intelligent ones too.
