This movie sucked. You hardly even see the monster and when you do it's bad. The ending is also very bad.

With Godzilla the monster was a metaphor for nukes. Was Cloverfield trying to copy this exact same idea but with 9-11/terrorism?

Not every movie has to be a metaphor. Watch a video essay of the ARG associated with this movie. Although, it doesn't compare to being there and taking part in the ARG.

Its not a monster movie. Its a breakup movie, that gets interrupted by a monster movie.

It sucked so much that the Rifftrax version of this movie is epic.
