most syfy shows are low quality garbage but this wasnt that bad esp if you marathon it for the main couple.

The thing about the show is that it was it's own original story, but then they got the rights to use the 12 Monkeys name, so just tweaked a few of the details to make it fit.

They are completely different beasts, and shouldn't really be compared.

It's really good, there is a lot of setup in the first season and they were forced to include parts of the plot from the movie but the time travel stuff in the following seasons is mind-blowing.
