>>213814253The way they made Susan the heart of the team was so incredible to see on screen. This was what a lot of fans all felt in some way or another, but to actually see it in action was something else. And we weren't just told how important and kind and strong Sue was, we were shown in small and big moments all throughout the movie. I especially loved when she had real teeth and grit, like when she told Johnny to straight up kill the Surfer.
Vanessa Kirby brought something so real and tangible to the script, with a performance that really did uplift what could have been really basic writing. The scene where she realizes Reed has already come up with a solution and roars before going completely invisible could have felt like a tacky "mama bear angry" moment, but the performance was heart wrenching.
This is a real, layered, and relatable character with clear motivations that makes it easy to empathize and root for her every step of the way. This isn't a character I had a huge emotional attachment to before, but I am a giant fan now and can't wait to see more of Susan Storm
