The way they made Susan the heart of the team was so incredible to see on screen. This was what a lot of fans all felt in some way or another, but to actually see it in action was something else. And we weren't just told how important and kind and strong Sue was, we were shown in small and big moments all throughout the movie. I especially loved when she had real teeth and grit, like when she told Johnny to straight up kill the Surfer.

Vanessa Kirby brought something so real and tangible to the script, with a performance that really did uplift what could have been really basic writing. The scene where she realizes Reed has already come up with a solution and roars before going completely invisible could have felt like a tacky "mama bear angry" moment, but the performance was heart wrenching.

This is a real, layered, and relatable character with clear motivations that makes it easy to empathize and root for her every step of the way. This isn't a character I had a huge emotional attachment to before, but I am a giant fan now and can't wait to see more of Susan Storm

None of the live action ones have been great. Vanessa Kirby is suited to the part well enough, but it is pretty obvious she's too old to just be starting the role, if she was ten years younger it'd be good casting. She has the maternal vibe down. Kate Mara was a total nothing. Alba was wildly unsuited to it. I never saw the Roger Corman ashcan film. The actors for that one I guess look like the characters, cheap as it all is.

Frankly, I would have just cast Julia Garner as Sue instead of Silver Surfer, looking at First Steps.

I won't argue the semantics. I doubt I'm going to continue to movie. A woman knows better than to step forward and be the first person to address an intruder. Especially a pregnant woman. I don't care what kind of powers she's got. This is going against the programming. It's SUE that has to tend to Reed's doubts about being a parent and the duties of the oncoming pregnancy. It's SUE who is addressing intergalactic space threats and answering as if she's the leader of the entire thing. Sue is doing the man's job.

This ending scene bothered me so much. They were struggling to attach a fucking car seat. Reed even had to instruct Johnny to reach something under the seat. So funny right? So relatable. Superheroes are humans too. Except Mr. Fantastic only superpower is he can stretch! Why do they need 3 men to attach a baby seat? He can do that by using one hand! The same thing when Reed placed Franklin in the center of teleporter to bait Galactus. He freakin run back and forth like a caveman instead of just stretching his goddamn arm.
