The two big problems were them thinking the audience gave as much of a shit about Lumon as they did. They spent the season wrapping up a new mystery box and only pretended to open up they made in S1. A boring episode with people mumbling the sporadic vague sentence in a town without lightbulbs for a big reveal that is meaningless and uninteresting.
Writers have forgotten to write a good story without these stupid drawn out mysteries. That's not getting started on all the stupid plot holes they introduced (remember, the MC has a fucking hole in his head for the last couple of episodes from basement surgery with zero recovery time)
