The same is true for catwoman in batman returns. There were several outfits with some being patent leather/PVC and other scenes use latex body suits with the fake stitching glued on. Multiple costumes of different materials for different situations.

Working with real latex on a set is a nightmare due to extreme heat from the lighting (moreso back in the day) and long shooting schedules. Any time they can downgrade the costume or parts of the costume to just spandex or other shiney cloth fabric they do so. Its the same reason they use yarn sweaters in place of chainmail on films when no closeup is needed.
