I presume this is bait, but just in case there are any alphies who don't know this because they never saw Friends or Seinfeld, that's the way sitcoms all were fifty years. People laughed on the soundtrack or from a live audience to signal to the people at home when a joke was happening. It was called a laugh track/canned laughter, and even cartoons used them.
