When shit hits the fan it doesn't softball it. He achieved the perfect balance of light comic book fun and sincere dramatic weight. for serious answer its cus the cgi artists create over half the movie, its all preplanned already and the director mostly does suggestions and pickup shots. So its a 'Raimi' themed movie not like an actually Raimi hand crafted story. Like with Eternals the indie director chick got to film all the boring talky scenes and anything with fighting or effects was made for her, thats how it is with almost all the directors. Plus Raimi is old now and probably doesnt give a fuck.
