House of Leaves
The Red Wheel, some of the chapters are written like a screenplay, but the scope, massive cast of characters and digressions would make it extremely challenging to film. Technically Solzhenitsyn's idea of nodes where things went irreversibly wrong for Russia could work, but focusing on these moments exclusively without giving the massive amount of context he gives in the novels would make it nearly incomprehensible for people unfamiliar with the history.

You could definitely film Le Temps, it would just be boring as fuck/miss a lot of depth in the cinematic medium. It's not as if there's no plot that doesn't go from A to B to C; it just takes a 1000 pages to do that some times.

This is actually one of my favourite films, and I made the thread partly to see if people here knew it. That being said, it's not really an adaption of ISOLT per se, it's a Proust "biopic" mainly drawing from Time Regained. Flashbacks to real life as as well as bits from the other novels.

they already made a movie of swanns way. saying it's all one book is like sayin lord of the rings is one book and you 'can't film that' because they had to make more than one movie which is just silly

I imagine it's bad/mediocre as fuck. Without the interiority of the narrator, Le Temps would be extremely boring for long stretches. (And even with it, certain stretches of the novel are still tedious.)

Early 1900s autistic janny likes children a little bit too much but he's harmless irl. He dies alone and in poverty, when the landlord goes to clean up his apartment he finds almost 30k written pages between his creation the Vivian Girls novels, an autobiography and fictional weather reports about a fictional tornado. He also finds his hundreds watercolors of children, often naked futa girls.
The kinoest outsider artist if you ask me.

Honestly it would make for a really good miniseries.
