I didn't give a shit to see it int he theaters which is the best place to view these types of movies, so why would I give a shit to see it now? 2. Any half decent 4K setup with surround sound and a screen of at least 75" beats a theater (and a proper home cinema is better than any IMAX without 70mm film projectors

70mm IMAX > good home cinema > digital IMAX > decent home cinema > regular theater > rest

That's bit of a generalization, there's all kinds of different setups that theaters have. I'll take watching at home over digital projection at a theater every time though. Makes zero sense to pay 20 bucks for a subpar presentation in a theater. The only thing is the social aspect if you're going with someone. Old prints are cool though, lucky enough to have a city owned theater show them sometimes.

Regular theaters use Digital 2K projectors.

But stuff like Digital IMAX or CinemarkXD use Laser 4K projectors and the difference in quality is definitely noticeable.
