If I recall correctly there was a massive PR campaign to get her on the show. No doubt the showrunners knew she was a terrible fit but they put her ass on stage knowing exactly what the audience reaction would be so that when they canned her they could blame the audience for rejecting her. Luckily for them she dipped of her own accord.

At the end of the day it's about the trivia and Ken reads them questions just fine and he's able to give supporting little factoids with the answers and everyone knows he genuinely knows them and isn't reading them off a script.
The host has like two minutes to show their personality when they interview the contestants and half the time I've used that moment to get up and take a piss or get something to eat. Ken's fine even if he doesn't have Alex's natural charm and wit.

Ken has come a long way in terms of becoming comfortable with the hosting job and truly was the rightful heir to show all along. He’s a nice little smart Mormon nerd who will probably host it till the end of time. That whole farce they went through looking for a new host and throwing up anybody who was interested in the job was fucking retarded. Trebek wanted Jennings to take it, not Arron Rodgers or the chick from the Big Bang Theory. It worked out like it should’ve.
