>>213882720Growing up, my dad used to simplify it as “Marvel won live action, DC won animation.” And I thought that, for the most part, he was right. Part of it was lack of exposure, I didn’t watch any of the Disney channels growing up, but even retrospectively watching the Spiderman shows or anything like that were very engaging. DC animated shows and movies, by comparison, hit usual slam-dunks with only the occasional stinker. I chalk up the success partially to them copying ideas from comics tho, so that’s never a good barometer for a company’s IP health. I have to wonder if Gunn’s Superman is just a fluke, though maybe people said that after the first Iron-Man.
