Romans basically retroactively identified their often pre-existing gods with greek ones, but they could be preexisting (and that was the case here it seems) and somewhat different.

Enyo is usually associated with terror, bloodshed, destruction.
inb4 Rome's goddess of war was the nasty Bellona/Enyo one and the bette folks they subjugated worshipped the other valorous one
In the end I wanted to write "too bad how the kid turned out" into that original spoiler too, but then I put the male bit there as a joke instead. Didn't expect people who would appreciate the first version, heh.
