Yeah, blonde gal is the wife, she is just really short. The family photo was a yearly redraw I do of the first pic of the tall one I ever drew. She was raising her shirt and showing off her abs, so I just drew both of them pulling up their shirts in the redraw.

IVG is very powerful in that it can produce a very large quantity of sperm and produce it in a 'clean' manner- no semen or other fluids involved. This makes them highly suited for Intrauterine Insemination or IUI that uses a catheter to allow a injection of just pure saline solution to deliver the sperm directly inside the uterus. The savings in swimming time and life expectancy to the sperm is great. Plus the lab has months to grow and save very large quantities of sperm ahead of the conception attempt. The combination of the two should result in really a guaranteed conception provided the the would be mom is anywhere near accurate in determining when she is ovulating. Both the amount of sperm delivered and the time they can survive in the womb could easily be higher than natural sex with a man.
It also could be important since so far in the mouse studies, sperm produced by gonadal tissue grown from female mouse stem cells show a pronounced tendency to come out odd for a lack of a better term. Things like having short tails, oversized heads, weak swimming or only being able to swim in a circle. It hasn't stopped them from conceiving lots of baby mice with them, but they get help from gravity when combined with the target egg in a test tube conception. A very large quantity of sperm are trapped with a egg in a very small space and they get a lot of assistance from gravity.
If a male mammal was producing sperm of the quality generated in the mouse IVG studies they would be infertile for practical purposes. The distance needed to travel in normal sex which also involves swimming against gravity, would defeat them.

I could easily see that fertility clinics in the future would be modeled after a resort hotel. You would go there and spend two or three days. When you arrive you go to the clinic and which ever one was going to be the mom would have a catheter placed through her cervex into the uterus- and its a very small cath as little as 2.5mm diameter, no where near like getting something like a IUD put in. It should not be very uncomfortable. And the couple would collect a supply of pre loaded syringes in a warming bag. Then they would go to their room, have sex, and during or between the sex, inject the syringes through the catheter. You schedule yourself to be there for like the two nights before you figure the mom to be is going to ovulate, pick up a couple syringes each day from the clinic, so that there is always fresh sperm in large quantity in there across the whole window of time her ovulation could occur.
And the rest of the time you are there, you go to dinner, see a show, play video games. With one or both of you having a catheter going outside or submerging yourself in water in a pool or tub would not be a good thing, but you could do a lot of indoor activities without having to remove the catheter. And then when you are ready again another round of sex, more injections, ect.
If the recipient is a normal, healthy woman conception rates with this should be extremely high even if they cant fix the problem with female generated sperm being physically weaker and odd looking, just because of the quantity and placement. And a high success rate is going to be needed as this is going to be pretty expensive.
Hint for any artist who wants to tackle this kind of story.
The way things are going, the absolute necessity of conceiving a F/F baby in a test tube and then going through the risks of transplanting it into the mother seem to possibly going away. And the long periods of having to go through egg donations seem to also be going away.

Its a great treasure trove of links. And the base article is itself interesting (.pdf box at the top) someone actually did some basic market research in the form of questionnaires to focus groups, to see if the 'product' in question is as marketable to the public as the researchers and sci-fi fans THINK it should be. Will enough gay people be interested in having kids in this method to even go through the trouble and cost of fighting the legal battles against traditional religious groups to get this legalized.

And I've said this before, the men who will fight against it will have a harder and harder time having kids of their own.

So last week EO's were signed making it easier to get IVF in the US. But Congress needs to follow up and actually pay for it-and what happens in 4 years is anyone's guess. Suletta doesn't seem to be a clone at all because a clone would have had the same health problems that killed Ericht. But yet she has Erict's abilities and Nadim's skin color and personality. It reads more like the writers were influenced more by reading about Kaguya the Mouse- who was not a clone but who had the same female mouse as both her mother and 'father' which they called 'parthenogenesis' even if its not really the same as the parthenogenesis that occurs in all female species like the whiptail lizard. Because genetic recombination does occur this way there is a better chance that Ericht's health problems would not reappear, while still being similar enough that the GUND format would as accepting of Suletta as it was of Ericht.

Another baby step, no pun intended.
British and Australian researchers published a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine about successfully delivering 8 babies who have three parents.
The eight mothers all have diagnosis of having or being carriers of 'genetic disorders of the mitochondria' and had been counseled against
having children due to 'high risk'.
Which is the only reason the experiment was allowed, since doing it just so two women would both be a genetic parent of the child would be 'forbidden'.
The resulting children have a mDNA mother, and a X chromosome mother.
This procedure has been talked about in these threads before, but now we have real world success. Though for political reasons they had to claim it treated a disease and there still was a man involved.

If you apply this subject to Watanare, as an example.
All 5 girls could get each other pregnant using just In-vitro Gametogenesis which would require just one, admittedly painful, bone marrow draw per woman. They would only need to culture the sperm generating tissues- though those are the ones that require gene modification. So once a sufficient supply was generated it would just be a straightforward artificial insemination. No exotic procedure could be done at home, could even be done while having sex. Each of the 5 main girls could have a child with each of the others and the number of pregnancies per girl would be a completely reasonable 4. It would produce a whopping 20 children between the entire cast.

While I was playing with these numbers it occurred to me that in theory lesbian families could rival those of Catholics and Mormons in size and with comparative ease, just by alternating pregnancies.

Another thing, if Mai absolutely has to jet off to Paris or Rome the same week Renako ovulates they still won't miss the cycle. Mai's DNA is in a syringe, while it won't be sexy, she'd get inseminated. Its relatively easy to schedule compared to the 'natural' way.
Anonymous No.4461946 >>4461950 >>4461987 >>4461991

I think at that point the only barrier would be how many lesbians and febfems don't want families because of the social pressures to be a mom growing up. So you make it inexpensive or even pay women to have as many daughters as they want (hospital fees paid for, stipend for pre, pro, and post natal care as well as baby supplies, resources for child care) would make it very enticing for many to try it at least.

And then yes you can get Sally Gearheart levels of lesbian compounds this way

Here is a interesting math problem.
For each one of the potentially 20 Watanare-dotter, they would have one full sister and 12 half siblings out of the 20 children.
So within this circle of friends, each girl would have 8 friends, children of their mothers other wives, with no genetic relationship to them.
They could spin the wheel one more time and not commit incest.

There is a way out there to keep the parent-child relationships and reduce the number of children and therefore the long term costs. But it increases the up-front costs. Embryo implantation is not something you can do at home. You would have to IVG ovarian tissue for each woman as well as making sperm generating tissue- unless you really want to go through the ordeal of induced ovulation and egg harvesting (this procedure is the number one reason women quit IVF without a child). Once you have the egg supply, you have to remove the nucleus, swap it with one from another partners egg, then fertilize it with the third partners sperm. This swapping can, in theory, be ultimately taken over by a robot that can work on filling prescriptions 24/7, but in the mean time its done by a limited number of practiced human techs. They are not doctors, but by being scarce at a technique that is more art than science and they crushed/tore/overinflated their share of ovum in learning that skill so they are not quickly replaced so they can demand big paychecks. So your not talking double, your looking at four or five times the cost to get a embryo.
But having only two kids instead of 4 could over 18 years be cheaper, and having to wrangle only two kids would be easier on the psyche and easier to find time for each kid.

There's no need to make such a pedantic distinction, there's no practical difference from a lesbian.

It's more out of respect for lesbians who aren't attracted to men at all. While bi women who only date women actively choose not to engage with men

'Incest' reminds me. In our hypothetical Watanare family, each child would have one full sister and 12 half siblings.
But that would leave 6 kids in the extended 'family' of 'children of women who your mom got pregnant' with no genetic relationship to them whatsoever.
But you would have to make a graph, or one of those whiteboards with lines drawn everywhere to see if thats enough for every one of the 20 girls to have a partner, after all they would have to fight for the same six girls with their one full sister who would also have that same small group as their target.

No real news but- out of curiosity I did a web search for 'intra-uterine insemination home kid'.
The number of options already for sale on the market is amazing. How many people are buying this to have all these options? I expected the market to only be in its infancy.
Just try searching yourself.

Well IUI works, it was a success for years in veterinary medicine before it was brought over to human medicine. And the clinical version has some clinics claiming they get better rates of pregnancy- provided they are only dealing with the males dysfunction- than natural intercourse.
Are the home kits any good? Don't know. Haven't found any sort of 'top ten list' yet with ratings. But I was just so surprised at the number of vendors offering this when we don't have access to IVG sperm from women donors yet. Yet there is, or people think their will be soon, a large number of women just using sperm banks...someone has to be buying this.

Oh, and if you look at the diagrams or any of the instruction videos on YouTube of how this is done. Just training cartoons with mannequin bodies but the image of entering your partner like this was quite arousing. I started to wonder 'how to write a sex scene incorporating it.
I couldn't see any obvious obstacles to it in the materials I saw. Maybe you might trade a lower rate of success per month versus something a whole lot more pleasurable and romantic?
