New novel from Mikami, seems like it's a doujin work.
So did anyone read Omaegoto 5?
>>4428206>New novelIt's a comicalization.
The novel is one of the old Teren's doujinshi one-shots that were never published.
https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B07MCLNMCY
I wonder why they're making a manga out of it only now and why they won't publish the novel itself, together with the reincarnation in a plant/cat ones.
>>4428216 Manga is more profitable, if they think manga is viable then they would rather do it instead.
They should rename "yuri" as "terenmikami" at this point, because every work you come across these days has that hack's name on it
Speaking of Mikami Teren, is this yuri?
So what do you make of Sorawo's refusal to call her relationship with Toriko romantic? Is she too autistic to admit she's in a pretty normal relationship (extradimensional adventures aside) with her girlfriend or is she actually getting at something?
>>4428647If you read volume 8 it already explained everything.
>>4428665I read it, but I just don't see how their relationship is any different from an intense and dedicated romantic relationship in practice.
>>4428681They're accomplices.
>>4428647She has a strain of 中二病 that people can get even in university. But she does kind of have a point. How many couples accidentally fuse together when they have sex?
common
md5: fe7c63950a8b2c85bb8015e0b2412d4f
🔍
>>4428718It's a common lesbian thing
>>4428681It isn't any different, that's why Sorawo is unsatisfied with it, because she wants it to be something more than a normal romantic relationship like other people have.
It's nothing new in yuri. The love in yuri is much more real, stronger and deeper than the superficial "love" you see in het series, however there isn't a term for "more than love" but calling it just "love" puts it on the same level and that's degrading. It's the same reason why Yukiko refuses to call love what there is between Sakurako and Kasumi in Futaribeya.
>>4428719What's the picrel's title again? I never finished it.
>>4428783Shimeji Simulation
>>4428766Personally I am just tired of it, I think all of this sounds better in the head of the author than in how he is actually conveying it, Sorawo just sounds pretentious and making her constantly frustrated every time someone mentions anything about it is making her a very unlikable character with control issues.
>Sorawo suffered some abused as a child and has issues intimacyLike Toriko thought is far more relatable than
>She is an angry autist
>>4428719oh they actually have sex in this manga
>>4428802Sorawo being a pretentious angry autist is funny and well established. I just wonder if I should feel bad for taking the same approach to her view of their relationship. I don't think Toriko takes it very seriously.
>>4428802I haven't read volume 10 yet, but the part in 9 where Kozakura describes the legal process of adopting Kasumi makes me think that Sorawo will eventually have to confront some of the practicalities of having a unique concept for their relationships, if she wants to stay connected to the regular world.
>>4428802I always understood it as revulsion Sorawo feels towards the love she saw her dad and grandma have towards her mom. It looked good when she was alive but once she died they threw out her altar to please some stupid cult. I'd imagine it's like seeing your dad piss on your mom's grave. So she feels that love is fake and silly. She feels she's superior for figuring it out too. It's a questionable trait of personality but then again everything about her is questionable. It takes someone messed up to enjoy the type of content she does.
>>4428954>It takes someone messed up to enjoy the type of content she does.Minecraft videos?
>>4428961Posts on anonymous BBS?
>>4428719>Still not cancelled I stepped away from yuri for a long time, interesting to see.
>>4428802>Sorawo suffered some abused as a child and has issues intimacy>She is an angry autistBoth of these points are correct though
>>4425704>AdaShimaJust finished reading volume 5. It was a bit anticlimatic considering what Adachi did. I would've liked to read a Shimamura pov during and after the thing. I'll be reading volume 6 after work. What a ride
>>4429911She will talk about it don't worry.
>>4429961>>4429964I just went and read the thing in one go. I am both satisfied and worried at the same time because I see a lot of myself in Adachi. Not to say Shimamura's own weirdness and her way to put walls between her and other people wasn't relatable. Their ineptitude at managing relationships with others is painfully relatable and their introspection even more as it helped putting into words things I just accepted at face value about myself
>>4430551I'm halfway through this and am enjoying it. Its pretty close to otherside picnic genre-wise.
Inori's world building is amazing
>>4431818Humberta Humberta
>>4425701 (OP)How good is 'There's no Freaking Way I'llb e Your Lover...unless?'. Is the LN more raunchy than the manga
>>4431869I've read through 3 volumes of LN and its not all that raunchy. Don't know about later volumes or the manga.
>>4432123From what I hear it practically changes your perspective on Renako by showing how self deprecating she actually is and goes some way to explaining why she puts up with the insane affections of Mai
>>4431818Her world build in ILTV really fell apart but the later volumes in my opinion, and Rei eventually reduced to saying every other sentence how 'X an Y remind me of the same things I had in my past life' like we fucking get it already
>>4431818Is this from her newest book?
>>4432146She practically worships her group of friends in her thoughts (as a friend (with sexual attraction)).
>>4432146You should be able to get that easily from manga too
>>4432583But she's not gay BTW. She still wants to be normal and have a normal high school life.
>>4430369I shouldn't have read the epilogue of volume 10. It basically said that the true ending of the story happened in volume 8. I will keep reading till volume 12 of course but still it kinda ruined it me. I realized something was going on when the story kept switching focus and going back and forth in time but I persevered nonetheless. I actually detest endings. Maybe irrationally since all the good things eventually come to an end but it's just how I feel. On a sidenote I was hoping for a proper kiss to happen eventually but I feel like the author is just going to keep torturing me to the bitter end. Everything considered I loved reading it. It's been a long time since I last felt envious of fictional characters
>>4432681The real ending is when Shimamura dies on the bridge.
>>4432152If the hero one hasn't come out yet then yeah, it's from Homunculus Tears
>>4432686I know this is bullshit but I am still going out of my way to read volume 12 and any other spinoffs just in case
Damn, Suki na ko no imouto 2 hit hard.
Shitty parents ruining their children's life.
The good thing is I don't see how it will end. It's out of question for the sisters to share the MC, and they have a bad relationship so it won't be a full triangle either (but thanks for the incest kiss).
So one of them will have to lose and suffer in the end and I don't know who will be and how the author will handle it and I'm not ready to see either of them getting such a bad end.

The only new series this month is the one from Hikikomari's author. On Amazon you can see an illustration with tentacles assaulting the girls so I'd say it can stay there. It reminded me how bad the first volume of Hikikomari was.
>>4430551I finished reading this now and I recommend it for anyone that wants some spooky yuri to read. The story gets more serious than the cover and description let on. The relationship doesn't go that far yet, but its obvious where it is going and the author calls it yuri in the afterword. Also the second volume has already been confirmed.
I can't wait for fanart that faithfully avoids spoilers.
>>4434662Why does the good stuff never get an official translation?
>>4434666Otherside Picnic has an official translation and it's the best thing ever.
>>4434666Its the author's very first published work and it only released a few weeks ago. Maybe it will get one eventually if it gains enough interest I hope it does and gets a manga adaption because I want to see how they pull it off. Anyway, if you are interested in reading LN in Japanese so you can read whatever you want, you can pretty much just learn as you read and its a lot of fun. This one might be a little hard to start with though.
>>4434686Can you recommend yuri LNs that would be good to start with?

That toothbrushing scene in Did You Think My Yuri Was Just for Show? was intense. Every girl should brush her beloved's teeth at least once.
>>4434706I took another look through what I've read and they are all closer to each other than I remembered. So its probably best to just start with something that you find interesting and power through it. Or start with manga like Yuru Yuri or something first, which should be easier to read, but automated dictionaries might not work.

Where do you put these extra volumes on your shelf anyway? Like for AdaShima's ones. After the numbered volumes or do you follow the order they are published and put them between the numbered volumes?
>28 (twenty-eight) volumes of this
Is it trying to beat Marimite or something?

Girl gets isekai'd as a fox goddess and in order to return home she has to gather the faith of the people.
An isekai where the goal is to actually return to the real world? Okay, that's a new one to me.
>>4437411>An isekai where the goal is to actually return to the real worldI suppose you haven't read Shokei Shoujo.
>>4437411>An isekai where the goal is to actually return to the real worldThat's what the first isekais were usually about
>>4437580when did isekais became about escapism from your own world?
>>4437411what part of this is yuri?

>>4437589when they premiered Narnia
>>4437411Until she goes...>why should I go back and became some nobody when I'm I have a fox wife here??
>>4434706My go-to rec is 聖クロス女学院物語. It's a kids book so it's much easier to read than your average LN, and although it starts off slow and is axed after just three volumes (with the fourth half-finished on the author's blog), by the 2-3rd volume it has enough gay tension everywhere. Essentially it's about a mystery-solving club in a Marimite-like school, but the protagonists spend more time being silly and admiring their upperclassmen than actually solving mysteries, at least until things start getting weird.
Really a shame that it never continued, the fourth volume with the school play was getting intense.
>>4437589When it started being aimed at men
>>4437411Just realized this came out last year and I guess was a repost by Tsuzuri. Happens a lot.
By the same author that did Novice Alchemist.
>>4437831Hopefully protagonist also gets married to a girl here
>>4437411I just started reading this.
>>4437590The story focuses on the two girls on the cover trying to promote a shinto fox god in another world. So far it has yuri subtext such as the girl on the left making a marriage-like promise to the girl on the right. I'm guessing it would need some sequels to get to a kiss or something, but I'm also not that far into it to know.

>Grisaia: Phantom Trigger has a yuri novel
I'm intrigued by this. What an interesting route to take from the hetshit harem original novels.
>>4439688Does it have a separate cast of characters and storyline with only cameos from the original? (i.e. Hidan no Aria AA) if it’s more like the Railgun or Danmachi novels I wouldn’t get my hopes up
I just binged the translated chapters of Speedrun manual of Miss Witch the last few days, its probably the best non romance focused chinese yuri I've read at least in terms of mindless fun, about the yuri Ciel gets a girlfriend by like chapter 130, with a pretty nice build up and they occasionally have sex
>>4439879I didn't know there were chinese WNs that weren't wuxia. Is there anymore non wuxia WNs?
>>4439927Of course, Wuxia is not even the most popular genre in the first place.
>>4439879Guess I’ll be adding that to my list then
Also what
>>4439974 said, I’ve barely gone through CN yuri (only read The Dragon and some other series recommended on these threads)
Is this really happening?

I've been reading the Strawberry Panic LNs despite having never watched the anime and they're racier than I expected. Like, in the span of two chapters, Chikaru kisses a loli's butt and Yaya undresses and molests Hikari in the school pool. Are the manga and anime this racy, or was the LN author left unsupervised?

Character reveal for Toshizo's new yuri LN
>>4441559>getting a voiced PV so soonWhat's going on?
I'm getting ShuuKura vibes, is it as good?
>第一巻The volume is not numbered anywhere, how confusing. If you already know you're going to serialize it then number it from the beginning.
>>4441596Strawberry Panic is the best anime ever made but the LN is quite bad.
>>4441611What a generic promo art. It looks like two haremettes looking at the self-insert.
>>4441630>What a generic promo art.the doggo novel had a generic promo art too
So in the end who's her yuri?
The LN industry is killing storytelling. They don't know if they'll ever get a second volume so they either reveal and resolve everything in the first volume leaving no plot open for future volumes or they won't resolve anything but then don't get any other volume so the story remains incomplete. Axed manga at least have a second volume to end the story.
I hope in some kind of twist like the MC wrote the letter herself (but it doesn't seem to be the case) so she could have dates with all the three girls and not just revealing that it's one of the three.
Sakuhi is a great character, she deserved to be more developed but boring stuff like exams and elections stole away too much time.
>>4442465I read on the author’s Twitter they are already working on Vol 2
>>4439879Avena is a pretty neat love interest, albeit I'm very partial to detective prince archetypes. I like that despite being a munchkin novel, she doesn't get sidelined as Ciel grows stronger as she has many support attributes such as information brokering, providing therapy, and being the protagonist's sugar mama. The use of the timeloop aspect in the romantic developments was quite cute as well. The stoic Ciel growing more affectionate of Avena from fucking around and finding out how much psychotic bullshit she would be willing to put up with for her via the loops was quite charming.
I was also interested in the relationship between Amy and the dopey plague doctor who's the little sister of the blind nun. That they became roommates and pseudo drug dealers for Ciel during the Capital arc due to their pathway synergy seemed like a good setup to me.
The best version of Ciel is Instigator Ciel.
>>4442689Is this baseball Adashima?
>>4442666I was surprised that Amy wasnt actually the love interest but I like how much Avena spills her spaghetti while trying to girlboss Ciel, I have a feeling instigator might be the most popular version too due to how unhinged her personality is from base.
Another anon here, I'm still reading Speedrun Manual of Miss Witch, and it's really very good so far. The world-building and power systems is awesome.
I thought Yulis was the love interest. I was surprised when it started pointing toward Avena.
>>4441596The LNs and manga were created and written by Sakurako Kimino (the same woman who created Love Love! btw).
The anime is basically entirely different except has (most of) the same characters with (mostly) the same personalities. Chikaru especially for the shaft there in the anime imo.
You should both read the LNs and watch the anime (the manga never got past the first bit of the LNs).
The anime does sometimes go a little harder than you might expect, but no, a scene like the one where Miyuki drags a random girl into the baths with her and Shizuma just so the rando can get molested by Shizuma instead of herself does not feature in the anime.
Both the LNs and anime are delightfully absurd in their own ways.
>>4442777Thanks, I'll definitely check out the anime then. I figured the anime came first and then the LNs were written to cash in on the hype, but I just found out that it the short stories came first. Wild stuff.

>>4443176I’m so happy it’s back
If his announcement wasn’t about it coming back I’d have given up and bought the WN
>>4443176I think kiki made a post a few months ago saying volume 5 had been completed for years before it's release and that 6 was also pretty much done at the time.
I read a horror novel today where a journalist investigates a series of houses that seemed to have been built with the express purpose of enabling the occupants to easily murder people and dispose of the bodies and it made me think that Sorawo would really like this book.

Iori Miyazawa's next book ウは宇宙ヤバイのウ2 releases tomorrow. The first book('s 2023 re-release) is goofy yuri sci-fi. Originally he couldn't get it published until he gave it a male protagonist, but after it went out of print based Miyazawa seized the opportunity to rewrite it as yuri before republishing it. Now the new version has a manga adaptation and this new sequel releasing.
>>4447268>NadeshikoGokumon Nadeshiko?

Iori Miyazawa could write a restaurant menu and I'd still read it.
>>4447626>GBfag gets upset because people reads yuri
>>4447426Its not genderbending. Kukuri has no memories from Ku, and nobody can remember Ku's sex or even species.
>>4447812Is there a good translation somewhere? I saw one but it was locked behind a paywall the site seemed kinda sketchy
>>4447268Would you elaborate on that?
I'm buying all the volumes but so far I've read only the first volume of the manga and it didn't tell me anything.
>>4448244Just a lot of thinking about the other. The whole story of the fourth volume is about a couple who heavily parallel Amana and Nadeshiko's relationship. Nadeshiko makes some friends her age and Amana tries to push her towards them, realizing she's getting too attached. Just stuff like that. It's not romantic yet though.
>>4448296>not romantic yet>after four volumesWhy have I even started buying it?
>text says that one girl is a head taller than the other
>perfect height for one to have to bend over a bit to kiss the other girl
>illustration shows them with a 2cm height difference
Why does this always happen?
>>4448413Yeah Adashima sucks with this.
>The Hero-Killing Bride Vol 3
>biting each other gets them horny
>afterword says they'd probably start fucking if there's another volume
The worldbuilding in this series felt pretty sparse, but the relationship Alicia and Cion have built up is really sweet. It feels like the author was being held back by force from making them 100% gay for each other instead of just 95%.
>>4449529https://twitter.com/_Aoikou/status/1946816052052349147

It doesn't say anything about yuri but it sounds like it would be an interesting story if it was.
So this month there are the two Inukai Anzu's volumes, WataNare and that other new yuri story.
Inukai Anzu has been very prolific recently, how does she get all these volume releases?
>>4449532To be fair, the afterword is vague there and doesn't explicitly mention sex. It could just mean more biting, but it's either way it's high time for a kiss. We've already had a straight-up profession of love and the story has made it very clear that the only thing that could tear them apart is death. I read in an earlier thread that the editors or whoever insisted on toning down the yuri and that's exactly how it feels while reading it.
