Welcome to another Heaven Burns Thread, where we are drowning in swimsuit events, you bet!

The 3.th anni has come and gone and along with it came a lot of upheaval in the community over balance changes. Things are a little unclear for the future, but hopefully WFS can mend the misgivings some players have with the changes.

The new anniversary event brought back KuraMona in full force and had lots of cute YuiMiya moments too. Tsukishiro's dear old friend turns out to be quite the womanizer too.

EN has finally hit chapter 5.1 and thus peak Ruka Yukki. Minds are being blown left and right as expected.

Unison Karen released, a unison between Karen and Karen. Revolutionary stuff.

If you just follow the story chapters it makes perfect sense. Not so much for the events, which is why it's commonly agreed on that time makes no sense in HBR's events and should just be ignored.

Hmm, I don't know if I like the translation. It is correct, but maybe a bit literal. What Shiki is getting at here is that Yanagi puts equal value on Shki and Kanata, not just that she thinks they are on the same level of potential. That exchange is exceptionally powerful because we just spent an entire event hyping up how much Yanagi values Kanata, basically more than her own life or aspirations. So putting Shiki on equal footing is what makes the moment so shocking.

Anyway, as always, this is one of the best moments in the game for how understated, yet surprising it was. Shiki's self-mocking smile as she just says something she considers ridiculous in jest, but Yanagi proving what one could already cleam from most of the event's build up... that she has been paying extra close attention to Shiki and really values her for who she is. Yanagi sees the hard worker who tries to please and actually cares, even if she's eccentric.
And Shiki for her part clearly puts Mion on a pedestal of her own, which makes her validation more powerful than of her usual squeeing fangirls.

There is really no other ship in HBR with such a mature atmosphere. One might bring up KuraMona, but honestly, they act more like awkward teenagers incapable of expressing themselves. Only YanaShiki really carry the adult vibe.

Damn, those secret bosses sure got hands. I'm pushing a million damage into them and they're not noticing.

I was wondering what seemed off... Swimsuit 4 shouldnt be fucking out yet. Yostar skipped ahead again for some stupid reason.
It's slightly less egregious than when they pulled Swimsuit 2 ahead 6 months before the fucking story chapter it takes place after at least.

Let's see... Miya's and Irene's events and the corresponding banners. They pulled Swimsuit 3 and 4 ahead 3 months, I guess because it's for summer? Yostar are just as moronic as WFS sometimes.
At least they managed to squeeze Bungo's event in just before the Amari swimsuits, because that event gets referenced in Swimsuit 3.

So we went from Awakened Tsukasa and Karen-chan 69'ing to sleep, to Yukki having the mother of all gay panics, to the 'lesson' of the event being "Rumi, a little girl that just lost her parents, has to suffer".

It's not that Lumi should suffer, but rather that it's not 31A's role to take care of her. They have their own mission which is equally important and they can't be held back by attachment, especially because shortsighted kindness can actually make things worse.
Granny Aki was just around the corner and Megumin knew Lumi would end up with her. So while in the moment her pain if hard to bear with and Tama is not wrong in wanting to help anyone within sight, the Higher Self sees the future and wants Tama to learn this lesson. It was never about Megumin it was about Tama.

Some have speculated due to Megumin's ominous comments that there will be a point where Tama might have to let Megumin go... and that will be a moment where she needs to remember the lesson that there is a bigger mission for her and she can't recklessly save everyone.

Woah woah, she never threatened with force. Her argument was also pretty straightforward, that Lumi will be fine and that they have a job to do in the present day.
But also yes, Tama trusting Megumin's judgement is important. If in the future Tama is at a crossroads, then her trusting Megumin, even if it means letting somethig sad happen, may be the point.

However, I still hope that the actual thing that will happen is a subversion with Tama refusing to accept the tragedy and instead defies fate. Because defying fate has kinda been a theme ever since 5.1, but this Higher Self stuff was alls extremely fate based. Thing "have to happen the right way" etc.

I'd usually post this on /vmg/, but it looks like nobody's made a thread there in ages and I really don't want to use /vg/. I don't feel updates about which poses or expressions are added really belong here either, so maybe I'll find another way to keep a list for those who really want it. Even with their app it's not guaranteed that you can verify your age. I've given it every permission possible and it still won't use the camera, so I can't even show it a fake selfie like others did. Every of those three teams can be made from a mix of two squads, so it's a bit more approachable. I think it was 31A/B (+the 30G member you took along), 31C/F and 31D/E.

I'm actually surprised that we still didn't get a new Tama style. It's been shockingly long considering she used to get so many all the time.
Also why did they waste a swimsuit style on Aoi when she was one of the three characters still missing a white suit style?

Holy fuck, even with this retardedly OP team doing just the X difficulty of the Kaleidobouros raid was like pulling teeth. Maybe I needed more debuffs than Tenne's, but I also needed two blasters to make up for the constant destruction rate heals.

No, you needed the limited Karen and enough stats (= limit breaks). X's border was increased by a fuckton and you are allowed to curse the absolutely retarded devs for this.

And if you want to get the important stuff of the new endgame shop, you'll need to do x+3 btw. (just like getting 2.2m SA scores), and that's another 150 stats on top.

Debuffers are actually terrible here.

I felt a huge difference in damage between just using Tenne's defense down debuff and not, so debuffs definitely still matter. But free Karerin + upgraded SS1 Kura ult still get the destruction rate high enough. Diva Ruka guarantees I can keep using those ult even when I run out. The new system mechanics giving like 7+ ult uses by default definitely helped tho.

Though yeah I feel the difference between prior raids and this. Even without the elemental shields, this is like the highest end boss right now.

It's just that this damage should not matter, because your goal is to burst every phase, and be it with an OD3 and shooting with Bungo every single time. Because if you don't burst a full bar past the break, the enemy gets the shield back. This is BAD.
It's better to get there fast, and build the next OD while you are doing your current OD already. If you really lack damage, stats are likely the problem. Though what you do really lack is a buffer for bungo, that gives a turn based buff. Those are much more impactful than debuffs, and you have nothing like that.

It's a spam fight, and if you do it right (and have Karen + necessary LBs) you can actually beat this really fast, like 7-8 turns. Even deep into the ex fights, like pic related being ex+5, though that REALLY needs LBs, daphne, max soul and whatnot on anyone who wants to deal damage.
Though I wouldn't worry too much. They really designed this shit way too much around Karen. The fight is pretty much unfair if you don't have her. First time this game ever did that to this degree.

I dont know what you mean by turn based buff. Aoi/Ruka give her crit and attack up + multi hit, while Kura gives destruction rate shred on the attack turn. I guess it would be neat to have some kind of Morale boost skill like Diner Koju's.
I just dont know what slot to trade. Karerin is necessary for e-shields and Kura does really good DR.

Is there any post-5.1 rukayuki stuff in JP? 5.1 felt like a huge moment for them so I wondered if we would see more of their dynamic in later stories. But I heard that 5.2 focuses on Karen, Tsukasa, and Yamawaki and there isn't much of anyone else, so it feels like it's actually a bit dry.

Yeah that song is really damn good and I did hear no screamo. But there were a couple of SiL songs without screamo before to be fair.

I love 31X events and if this is a continuation of Tenne's event, then I expect some tie-in to the major arc. It is certainly a sequel to Sharo's event, what with it involving the field 31X made and protected.

Vri is probably the least interesting member of 31X, but I thought the same about others before and their events changed my mind. I did not expect Maria's event to make me cry and get hyped so much either. You never know with HBR.

I'm also a huge YotsuVri shill, so I will be keeping my eye out for fuel.

You don't need dupes, you just need to get her once. Then you can use SS shards. And as usual, LB1 is basically all you need unless you just get more dupes or are desperate for stats.

I cam't believe I'm saying this, but I think... Carole's suit style might be the coolest one yet? It's actually so fucking good! This is seriously my favorite, even above dyke queen Misarin.

Her ult also looks cool, but I don't know if it's that strong. A basic damage ult is kind of outdated.

This is also a very tasteful and good design. They definitely lean into her Indian roots more than they do in the others' nationalities it feels like.

The curry buff being yet another unique one is funny. I think she is a decent support.

I barely feel the nerfs to be honest. Of course getting demon Mari really helped my ice comp, but still. This is more or less what I've been running for a year and it still gets me to 1mil+.
