Just finished The Citadel, going to start Beyond Citadel in a few weeks. Also finished a BG3 honor mode run a month ago, and god that games story sucks fucking ass.

I tried to pick up Kenshi, but I've finally come to the ultimate conclusion that I really just don't like sim or sim-like games. I've considered pirating Factorio lately and giving that a try as well, if its good I'll buy it but we'll see. I also have Project Zomboid and SMT nocturne sitting in my backlog, I loaded up SMT for a couple of hours and got tired of the annoying as fuck gameplay loop of being repeatedly jumped over and over REAL quick.

I also play almost exclusively on Linux now, since I mostly play SP titles and EAC is irrelevant. It works shockingly well with proton/wine. Older games are easier to run on Linux as well. Kotor 1/2 for example are enormous pains in the ass to run correctly on windows, requires legitimate tinkering. Both boot and run first try on Linux

Best bet is to use ooshutup10++ or some other program, but even then they can't cover everything because some of it is immutable, so whether or not you disable recall, a lot of what you're doing on Windows regardless of version is being utilized by Microsoft or sold to data brokers. Unless it's with buddies you know, co-op often ends up feeling like a 3-legged race where you're either too slow or too fast for everyone else. With randoms, it's just as asocial as modern PvP games, and in a way has its own form of PvP with each person trying to compete with others on their team by rushing through things with broken meta strats copy/pasted from a youtuber

Goddamn. Trying to get into Oblivion Remastered after all the hype has died but my PSU cuts off quickly, it seems. Capping the framerate to 60 appeared to help, but only temporary. The bit where you pick your birth sign absolutely revs up the wattage. It's only 2 years old. EVGA is shit or my brand-new 9070 XT actually requires 800w (I have 750w). I checked out Sacred because of a thread here the other day and i've been having a blast.
I'm a big tittied blonde warrior goddess going around killing zombies and shit.

I've been playing single player games almost exclusively for years with the exception of sometimes playing some vidya with the bros and it continues to be a wonderful experience. Playing Nioh right now, a bit of Dead Cells, and some solo Ages of Empires (in particular I enjoy messing around with the scenario editor). I broke my conditions of singleplayer gaming because i like this game a lot. Counted play time is now at 286 hours. But sometimes i left it on and went to bed and forgot to log off so it may be exaggerated a little.

The only multiplayer game I'm looking forward to right now is Thick as Thieves

I've always been a single player based gamer, but I keep getting more and more entrenched in this side. Part of it is age. I'm 34 yeas old now and past my gaming peak, but the other part is all the live service slop, and worst of all, the way communities work in multiplayer vidya. I have to buy Thick as Thieves the day it launches because I know for a fact that within a month of release, it will either be dead or filled with nothing but tryhards that play absolutely nothing else. It's grim, but multiplayer games really have such a short lifespan unless you dedicate your entire gaming time to them.

Just think about it. There are tens of thousands of fun little single player games that you can go play right now. Meanwhile, most multiplayer games launched as quickly as 6 months ago are already unplayable. It's a graveyard of lost media.

I've been checking out modern games recently, 99% were either generic/sandbox/open world/grindy dogshit or had some interesting ideas that don't make for a good videogame but i did find some actually games worth trying:

-Curse of the Dead Gods/Ravenswatch, basically Hades if it was good, the second game is even better since it has a time limit that forces you to make decisions
-Against the Storm, easily the best city builder ever made, mostly because its not sandbox crap like the vast majority of games of that genre are
-Spelunky 2, not the biggest Splelunky fan but its a fine game, no grindy bullshit or unclocks, you either git gud or you are not finishing the game
-Roboquest, the best modern game i've found, basically Borderlands if it was good, as an FPS its fluid and has fanatstic gunplay, as a roguelite its competent, its fast, looks pretty good and it even has music that isn't some generic orchestral or ambient bullshit, not amazing or anything but at least its something that would fit an actual videogame

Other than that i'm waiting for the next Victoria 3 DLC and Europa Universalis 5, i also would like to emulate some games but other than shmups and my usual Castlevania replays i got no ideas, played too many games already

The only multiplayer games I play are TF2, UNI2, and Maplestory.
In TF2 I almost exclusively play MvM servers and smash brother servers too, as well as death runs.
In Maplestory, anybody who has played it recently knows it's a single player game until you need to boss, and even then it's only mid-late to late game bosses.
This leaves UNI2, which is still alright since I basically only fight the same thirty people anyway.
Meanwhile I've been enjoying Expedition 33, Deltarune, and tons of Nextfes demos which give me even more hopes for gaming in the future. Can't say that gaming hasn't been the most fun and interesting for me recently because it has, as I'm excited for this year.

about 1,000 hours into Monster Hunter World/Iceborne without using the 4 player co-op functionality.

i usually put around 200-250 hours on most monster hunter releases, more if the endgame strikes me as particularly fun.

Wilds was a shorter amount of time because i don't want to burn myself out before the harder difficulty expansion comes out and the quality of life additions they added dramatically reduced the required playtime to do anything, i do still check in with the title updates to fight the new stuff, just not the arch tempered versions of shit i already fought.

i guess i also put in almost 2,000 hours into Genshin Impact but that is a game that highly encourages daily play so 10-20 minutes daily and much more during content updates adds up after a few years.

each floor has a ring of cards that are enemies, loot, health potions, cursed items, obsticles, ect and you rotate left or right interacting as you go, you can choose to "stealth" check past enemies but there is a chance you get hit on the way past them for 1 roll of their damage, or you could fight them directly, if your fast enough and can hit hard enough you can avoid damage entirely by one-shotting enemies.

Some people was a calm escape from reality in their games. SOme want a dopamine fueled rave. Both approaches are fine as long as those serve its purpose.
I played tekken, and specially Soul calibur at a high level at my arcade, I waited with teen like excitement for the online, only to get a shitty experience because if my ISP and the technical nature of those games with inputs requiring 10ths or hundreths of second precision. I was awful, and some years later, most arcades are gone for good.
I had a brief moba time with valveś deadlock at its beginning and then for a few months.

at the end people shit talk you for the slightest error. with time i dwelved a little more, just to see that the majority of players basically get a flipcoin probability (+/- 5%) win rate. So if I ever wanted to git gud, I also had to endure endless shittalk from randos in the process. Fuck that.
My life is stressful enough only to come home and voluntarily subject myself to more stress for what is, speaking in probability terms, a glorified flipcoin toss.
I like co-op games because at least for a moment, I can do activities with other individuals in the pursue of a common objective.
I like singleplayer, because, unless the game is badly designed, its a fight against my own skills and abilities.
You like PvP games? good for you, but to immediately retaliate against others that doesnt share your views reeks of behavioural problems. Good luck with that!

But i can enjoy multiplayer games too.

That said if you are not socializing with the players you meet in any multiplayer game, you are just playing a shittier singleplayer game.
