I finally finished Chapter 4. I never could find the moss but at least I got the Susie Star.
I suppose it was alright but the second half of the chapter was pure sleeping face.
I let /v/ trick me into expecting some despair kino or absolute cinema. Ralsei was so annoying during that entire end sequence, i kind of dislike him now. At best I just pity him. Susie herself is basically carrying this story.
Gameplay wise, It peaked at the Jack o lantern fight and then Gerson; everything after that (other than the maybe the titan) was so god damn boring. For me, part 4 is the low point of the game. Part 3 at least had the decency to not drag on for so long and the Roaring Knight was a fun fight. The titan is just a setpeice in comparison.
I think i might be the first actual hater of part 4.

Dark worlds are being created for two purposes: for kidnapping, and for killing

Why are dark worlds created? Is it coincidence that Kris and Susie stumbled into the ch 1-2 dark worlds? I don't think so. I believe those were created for the purpose of trapping and killing Kris and/or Susie from within the dark world. This would mean someone in the light world is instructing the Knight on where to create dark worlds, from the other side. Why do I say this? Well, in ch 3 it's implied the reason Kris opened the dark world was because he was ordered to, so they could kidnap Toriel. The ch 4 dark world makes sense as a second try at that attempt. But toriel ended up cancelling choir practice so it failed. But why would they make the dark world if Toriel wasn't there? Because the dark world was created on the other side. We can see the Knight can create dark worlds while within dark worlds, which means the church dark world was created from the perspective of someone who couldn't see inside the church.

If this is the case, then whoever is helping the Knight has to have known Kris and Susie's movements in the light world, which narrows down culprits

Part 4 was doing really great in the first half because of the creative gameplay it was doing. I forgot to mention that I also found the Mike fight to be one of my personal highlights too, It was a fun gimmick even if the "joke" being a jab at fan theories was a little too on-the-nose. I've heard someone state somewhere that Susie wasn't primed to properly reincarnate Gerson as a Darkner since Ralsei heavily implies that it has to do with the person who makes the fountain.
In Susie's case, all she remembers is his lesson teaching and fighting prowess but in a corrupted way, making the statue Gerson attack the party in the way he does. This probably ISN'T Gerson since he comes back in the Third Sanctuary, it's likely he petrified somewhere off screen and comes back once the energy of the Knight's fountain comes back into the main area.
The better question is why Gerson reanimated for the Knight's fountain but not for Susies, and the only reasonable answer is that the Knight had to have personally known Gerson, likely as their school teacher
