Whatever novelty could be attained from the core game concept was already covered in the first game and there clearly wasn't a real market for it. It was a niche market in an already over saturated market where people tend not to move around between games anyway. Even FTP models tend to struggle to attract a real customer base, what fucking hope did a retail priced game have.

I would have played it since I didn't play the first game, and it seemed approachable, and free. I also really enjoyed titanfall 2. I was, by all accounts, the core demo for the game.
