I like the RE7/RE2 remake era face models but they do look uncanny I will admit. I think the biggest thing that has helped them was taking those realistic face scans and then heavily modifying them afterwards. Best examples being RE8 Chris (actually the same face scan model as RE7 Chris but heavily modified) and RE4 remake Leon where they make him look gruffer, more masculine, older, more tired. In any case, you should be utilizing your matches to get more than one at atime or if you're good even groups of them (not really "minmaxing" just literally an inherent strategy) and you can always craft bolts. You can also do shit like stun a group of them with a flash bolt and get like 3-5 at a time just using the stealth execution.

I've never in my life gotten remotely close to softlocked in an Evil Within game and I always played them on the hardest difficulty short of Akumu.

Schlubcore normiegrunge is the staple of the genre. If they aren't some tacticool special ops character they are going to dress like someone going to the 7/11 for a sprite and two hotdogs or some shit.
