if you actually played the game (you didnt) theres rarely ever a moment you arent doing something, usually flipping off of walls to skip portions of the track and shit. Very rarely is it a straight away with no other thing to be doing but standard driving

I just did 150cc Knockout Tours and spent most of them driving in a straight line uninterrupted. The only times that ever changed were the very beginning before I was frontrunning and the very end when all the computer players miraculously caught up at the final set of item boxes (only happened about half the time; the other half was uncontested).

You can do that yes but it's just suboptimal play.

I like how everyone uses the intermission tracks to try and make it seem like the whole game is nothing but that.
Does it suck that you can't turn it off for grand prix even after finishing the game? Yes, but any time you do VS it's always the normal 3 lap tracks unless you specifically choose for it to not be that.
Personally waiting for a patch to makle it a toggle for the intermission in Grand Prix and Online so you don't have to keep picking random for it.

If you like time trials then the game is probably amazing but for regular races it's like the game is contradicting itself

So is it all one big race where you're going from track to track or does a race not start until everyone makes it to the track?

I think it wouldn't be so bad if the Grand Prix's didn't use these tracks too. It's fine for the Knockout mode, but the GPs should just be the tracks themselves.
It's not like Formula 1 has an hour of driving to the track before doing 5 laps on the actual track itself. Though it would probably fix the Monaco GP if they did

I initially thought connecting the courses was interesting, but really... why? It's just a bunch of forgettable mashup level sections flying by without leaving an impression, and worse, you give up multi-lap races for it.
The open world doesn't even look good. I think they just wanted to see if shoehorning in an open world would make it the new BotW.
It's not even a good open world, it's shitty in just about every way. It's big but mediocre, and despite the size it makes the world feel more finite than just having the levels existing on their own.
But, these connecting roads work really well for knockout mode, I'll say that about them.

You should take it at your own pace, starting with a couple of days. My pr is 5 days of dry fasting. In my experience dry fasting is actually easier than fasting on water.
