If you want to get every unique named character you pretty much have no choice but to get rid of most of your generics. FFT has lots of unique recruitable characters with their own unique class, and most join as you progress the story
There are also 4 "unique" generics which always have the same name and starting class in all playthroughs (1 male squire, 2 female knights and a chocobo)

There was also some time mage that is incorrectly programmed to have a female name but a male sprite or vice versa, i don't remember.
Point being if you want to get really autistic about it then you'll have no space.
Just keep the obviously unique ones and get rid of the rest is my advice.
