Why's FF7 so bad compared to expedition 33?
around the same time i got a copy of E33 my friend gave me final fantasy 7 remake and i couldnt get past the part where they get off the train and into the slums, game is so fucking boring, it looks like it doesnt have an art direction, everything just seem to fit the realism slop (kinda like nintendo hire this man meme) while E33 is oozing with art, from the music to the enemies... even the combat is better. holy shit final fantasy truly sucks

Everything in it feels so slow and weirdly linear in a bad way. There's zero build customization you just slap whatever weapon you need to level and/or the strongest weapon you have. Each character has one dimensional stat they excel in (Cloud strength, Aerith Magic attack, Tifa speed, Barrett HP defence etc.)
