>>712490361 (OP) The economy is collapsing. 99% of the wealth is being hoarded by 1% of the population with no intent to spend or invest it, only hoard it. Prices are having to be raised to compensate. Eventually nobody will be able to afford anything and the economy will collapse. The money that was being hoarded will eventually become worthless.

>>712490361 (OP) Things have to get more expensive. That's a function of capitalism. That's why in old sci fi movies they always joke about small items costing a million bucks, because eventually in our current economic system it will
>>712490361 (OP) Games cost more to make than they ever have and Trumpenomics causes runaway inflation so you have to pay devs and creatives more

>>712492880 Things becoming more expensive was never the intent, nor ever a part, of capitalism's goals and system.
>>712493230 Sure, and there was a time I'd say that was still the intent. Unfortunately our lifestyles and mores necessitate a system built on the idea of ever expanding profit margins.
For example AI in games should reduce the cost of games and that should be passed on to the consumer, but the consumer isn't as important as the shareholder so you guess what really happens.

>>712493421 At no point did anyone, during the inception of Capitalism, declare that the system was designed to fail and collapse on itself in the future. What is happening now is just an unforeseen side-effect. Mainly because most of the money has been removed from the economy by billionaires.

>>712493682 I agree. Maybe I was a bit hyperbolic in calling it an inherent feature of capitalism, what I mean to say is it is the current pattern and intended function of the market itself. I personally feel that the hoarding of wealth is, like you may feel, is a primary reason for what is happening now.

>>712495714 >when there's high demand you raise the price until people stop buying
This is exactly what's happening. OP gave himself the answer, but he can't see it >there are more gamers than ever. why is gaming so expensive? :( They don't care if they sell 100 copies at $50 or 50 copies at $100. That's why they just charge whatever they want and it's only a problem when the game doesn't make back what it cost. The solution will always be vote with your wallet.
