Blue Archive obviously. The gameplay is shit either way, but BA has better girls, interactions and character writing. And that's the real reason to play these games.

Blue Archive has had so much powercreep, and limited characters that there is no feasible way for a newfag to catch up. Sure, newer characters powercreep the older ones, but fully invested older characters shine more in higher difficulties of a raid when you need more teams or specific characters from a long time ago to clear it successfully. You'll honestly feel discouraged if progressing through it. Madoka's gacha, on the other hand, is new. You only missed one limited character and it Madokami so she's probably gonna get rerun to hell. It's easier for a newfag to start there.

Gold is good enough. Gacha games are not real games. Its not the gameplay but the world, characters and/or story that is the main draw. Unlike a real game there is no reason to tryhard. Its something to do while you have a little free time.
Basically if you have to try at all give up and wait till you're a higher level or get more mats/characters. Keeps you from burning out.

Definitely not BA, it has boring ""gameplay"", shitty load times, dully presented main story and events, annoying dailies(especially when raids or joint firing drills are up), and horrible rates. Pretty much the only saving grace is how cute it is and how much porn gets made of the characters, which you can safely enjoy without ever touching the game itself(which most fans do).

not inaccurate, BA is quite generous when it comes to daily/event pyroxene (gems)
More importantly the meta students are very defined and few so you don't have to roll anyone outside of it, the time frame for you to save up to roll meta is plenty, and ability to borrow unit for raid (the game mode that matter) lets even most f2p win platinum ranking comfortably with one OP borrowed DPS
The game is over 4 years old and the raid still use same old 10 meta students

You clearly don't care about "gameplay" since both of these options are autobattlers, so I am gonna assume you are in it for the story. Blue Archive's story is original. You just start the game, and your enjoyment will depend on which of the volumes you liked or disliked. Now, Exedra biggest problem right now is that it's a giant fucking recap of everything Madoka. The Protagonist and a green kyubey are basically just watching all the Mafoka stories like Mystery Science Theater. There are no new characters, it's all just "member that?". Maybe this wouldn't be a problem if it was just Madoka' story and lost media like Orika since those are quick BUT they are choosing to recap Magia Record too. Magia Record was the first Madoka gacha and it is way too long to get through compared to the other Madoka stuff. I wouldn't recommend unless you are a masochist.

This would have been a problem if people have actually read the other Madoka stuff. Only diehard fans would have ever read Oriko and Scene 0 is only just now getting an official translation

You can pretty easily gold everything in BA as a F2P. That's all you need to fully enjoy the game.
It's the only gacha I've played for this long and only spent like $50 ever (I really wanted S Hoshino and NY Mutsuki) and honestly I didn't even need to spend, I was just retarded.

Madoka being a recap is actually in its favor. Most gachas have a ridiculously long first few chapters before the narrative picks up, but Exedra recapping the original Madoka first means it gets right into lore and character arcs.

That tier list is very lenient. You can technically get every character with average luck as a F2P if you grind Primos from dailies + events + abyss from the start.
You won't get any 5* characters to high constellation though.

hurr i need to plat and torment everything so i can... plat and torment everything next time slightly easier. none of it matters, cruising by on silver-gold and doing hardcore/extremes gets you 80-90% of the rewards and the only real downside is you get slightly less roll currency and might take an extra week to build out a character... for the exact same content you're doing to build them anyway.

blue archive is a god-tier casual game and a shit-tier hardcore game
