Tried playing this and 1)The gameplay sucks
2) The jokes are really really weak. I imagine it was funny when it was released, but man, it just doesn't work now.

I was gonna say you can't do a funny action game, but the original Shadow Warrior (not the shitty reboot) is quite funny, though I kinda prefer the tone of Duke 3D, where the stakes are high despite the little bits of humor sprinkled.

There was some shitty PC game where the combat was turn-based huge hexagons with a few people versus a few people. Pretty sure the overworld which is a POV that looks toward the horizon and it's used for combat too.

also 4 is a vr game. of course you are going to be disappointed with it. also 2's visual novel branching gameplay was a one of thing that 1 and 3 didnt have.

The PC/Switch/PS5 release is in English, has new QOL features and added full-blown voice acting.
However it doesn't have the extra content added to the PS2 re-release. So the PS2 version is still considered the definitive one due to having original endings for each party members and a bunch of other stuff but that version has yet to be translated. The modern English release is good on its own but you'll need a guide for the sidequests due to some mistranslations

The full-blown voice acting is Japanese only and really great. The problem is the subtitled text, it isn't an issue for most of the story, but some sidequests are downright unbeatable because their translations make absolutely no sense and you won't be able to finish them by doing what they're telling you to do.

I remember it being fun, at least conceptually. I don't think I've played any other game that went full platformer but also arena. That being said, yeah it was grody as hell. Between this and Kung Fu Chaos, it sure did feel greasy on Xbox.

My god this game had problems
I always had the wrong GPU that would kill the performance of the game. Some AMD cards hated rain some Nvidia cards hated particle effects. I beat it once but the game still lives rent free in my head.

Always struck me as a shittier, jankier Dark Alliance or Champions of Norrath.

Surprisingly decent game, with some depth. In a 2d plane you control your space ship, colonize worlds, feed worlds, mine worlds, watch as the technology bars of the worlds grow (what they can sell you change, as well as their shields, and the spaceships protecting them). Plenty of weapons and new powers to add to your spaceship. I must have played a game like two hundred times, especially as it takes 15 minutes.

Albeit the best early game was a funny loop of
