That's not why they want their fetishes in stuff. They want it so that they can proliferate said fetish. They want their fetish to become normalized or at least shared by more people to the point they can more easily access and indulge said fetish. I feel like the difference is that it's the product that has to display unwanted elements. It's not just based on opinions/past acts of one of its creators. The former seems fine to me, the latter is what's the real cancer of cancel culture.
