It's a normal game. There was a mobile game but it wasn't a gacha you just bought costumes directly. The assets for the mobile game were made for the console game and scaled down so the 100+ costumes that were in the mobile game is now the gear you equip and you get it from quest rewards and find in the world.

How is Edens Zero? I didn't really like the Fairy Tail anime. Stopped watching it at around episode 80 way back when. The fanservice was nice but I didn't really like the cast or cared for the overall plot. Been thinking about giving the manga a go for a while. I mean Fairy Tail, not Edens Zero. I'm assuming you don't want to play the Edens Zero game before watching/reading it.

It's a lot better than Fairy Tail since he actually had an outline for the plot so a bunch of stuff is foreshadowed way in advance. He has talked about how he had Rave fully written out from the start. Fairy Tail was written week to week with zero plan. Edens Zero had plan for the major plot points but he left some room to change minor things.

The game has two sections. The main story which are normal beat em up stages and then a unnecessarily massive open world that you ride vehicles and fly around in and it's where they put all the side quests and super bosses that drop rare crafting materials.

A and AA developers like Marvelous, Inti Creates and Compile Heart used to put out material that makes anything out of chink/gook land look pitifully chaste.
