Lisa the Painful is so painfully dogshit in retrospect. It was pure miserywank crafted by a juvenile mind. It's a shame Austin never came up with anything of substance afterward.
Undertale basically came out right afterward and deleted Lisa as the then-quintessential Earthbound inspired RPG, too. And thank fuck for that!

Boring visuals, boring music, borderline entertaining encounters, the turn based combat makes my eyes roll into the back of my skull, it is barely a game.

At least the first lisa was short and kept you engaged with tension
