Dishonored is unironically a top 5 for me.
The art-style looks great, the levels are fun to traverse through and play, the gameplay mechanics on offer work together almost perfectly, and it doesn't overstay it's welcome at all
The atmosphere and ambience are fucking great too because of the soundtrack

Yes and no. It’s an excellent stealth sandbox, but the vibe is completely different. Corvo doesn’t need to stay stealthy, he can want to. And If he decided he didn’t want to, killing everything in open combat is pretty effortless.

Huh. I saw people sucking the game off non stop & still to this very day see people fellating it.
I was disappointed in it because I erroneously believed it would be a competent & fun stealth game. I enjoyed the first few levels up to the masquerade level solely because of the interesting shit going on in levels themselves but after that it nosedived hard. It never really got better, after I killed daud or whatever I never played it again, just forgot about it.

Leading up to the games release the media wouldn't shut the fuck up about the fact they had former thief devs & the devs themselves showed off the most interactive levels making it look like a mix of thief & hitman.
That gave the impression that the powers that were actually fun to use were an auxiliary to those elements & not the only the way to play the game & have fun. It didn't help that the game's story was set up to constantly monitor your usage of said powers & judge you for it. Most people want to be the good guy so the game inherently incentivizes people to play in the most boring way possible. Its like having santa claus constantly monitoring your behavior to see if you were a good boy looming over the game at all times. It would've broke immersion but people probably wouldn't have been so hostile to it if the game explicitly gave you a kill count per level instead of being opaque. I remember watching my friend play it & the whole time he was micromanaging how much fun he was having playing because he heard he'd get the bad ending where the characters shame the fuck out of you if you kill too many people. Totally ruined the game for him.

I am currently playing through Dishonored 2. Why is the writing so shit and wtf did they do to the outsider? He turned into an obnoxious faggot.
Also Prey is very good but damn the writing in it is SUPER POZZED. All the white men on the station are characterised as incompetent while the women are all girlboss and gay or getting blacked. Its weird.

All of these games are too easy btw. No idea how anyone could struggle even on highest difficulties. Need more punishing.
