The steam deck can't play kenshi an indie game at 60fps.

>b-b-but we didn't need the triple A ANYWAYS at 60fps but at least the indies still run at 60fps righ?-ACK!

Man, a 13th gen i9 and a 3090 couldn't play Kenshi at 60fps. The terrain loading in that game is absolute balls. One of the best mods out there is -75% clutter, just to reduce the outright pauses in the game from loading.

Thats not loading stutter thats just traveling and gameplay in the screenshot

Its two different things. Do you see a frametime spike?

40fps is the meta on Deck from what I've gathered. I only play non-demanding games and emulation.

what loading stutter? kenshi runs at like permanent 30 fps on normal settings because it has no proper occlusion culling, like it will render shadows 8k miles away at the highest resolution even if you're zoomed in

this is on a 3080 ti

>just traveling
That is when terrain loading becomes the problem. The faster, the worse. And some biomes are naturally magnitudes worse than others.

Disregarding that, my game ran smoothly even on my old 1070 and i5-6500 with the declutter mod and reduced texture sizes. I imagine the deck should manage as much with them as well. My one thought is, I wonder about its VRAM. The game had conditions which would exceed 8GB VRAM and crash. Isn't the deck lower than that?

you have to be deranged to think performance in kenshi says anything about the power of a system

also playing kenshi on a steam deck sounds terrible to begin with if you think about it for longer than 10 seconds
