it was alright. I just got through finishing it and here's my "review" if you give a shit:
- human enemies are retard tier. I played this game on hard II, whatever that means, so maybe this has influenced my perception of the game, but I doubt it. stealth is difficult to consistently pull off because there are just so many enemies in any one place and they'll more often than not see you coming from miles away on your loud ass bike. I played with mouse and keyboard and was able to get consistent headshots, which the game sort of expects from you; it's probably more difficult with a gamepad. by the end, they ramp up the difficulty by giving everyone armor which is gay, and reminds me of the nu-tomb raider games
- zombies will fuck you up, and that's because they're aggressive and tend to attack in packs. you will not have enough ammo for most encounters, which I suppose is the point; they want you to keep moving, mind your corners, maintain distance, use the environment to kill enemies. that's fine for boss battles and hordes but in regular gameplay it means you'll just avoid zombies if you can help it.
- story is whatever. I personally thought it was ok, even though it's kinda cringe. by the end I actually gave a shit about the characters to some extent. it's like a mini-season of the walking dead or something, not spectacular but not bad.
- main missions are: go here, kill bandits, collect samples or a specific item, stealth your way through enemy territory and eavesdrop, etc. your typical AAA affair
- free roam revolves around clearing out NERO zones, bandit camps and zombie infestations aka ubisoft type busywork, but there are some other activities you can do, they're just underwhelming
- post game is going round the map and killing hordes + finding collectibles you missed
the animations and hit detection in this game are kinda shitty, you have a stamina bar and a janky dodge roll
all in all it's a 6/10 from me, not great but not totally horrible.
