Actually, I benefit massively from GaaS. Thanks to battlepasses and lootboxes, I haven't spent a penny to play a game in years. I get all of the gameplay for free, with frequent gameplay updates to keep the game fresh, all funded by whales buying cosmetic sloppa. If I wanted to dress up characters there are plenty of browser games for that.
