I actually gave a sermon on this guy at my church a couple years ago. He’s an excellently written OT style hero but the nuance and allegory is completely missed on a surface reading, and that’s all most anyone is capable of doing (see: the way everyone misinterprets the book of Job). It could have been entirely unintentional but either way we got a great story. No I’m not going to explain further, I’ve done it before and this thread is already overrun with pseudointellectual anti-Christians with an axe to grind.

Why do all the dlcs require such high speech checks? The caravan at the start on zion was kino and I love the interaction with the addict, really thought we'd have more skill checks and rp involved, but all the dlcs are like this

most of the DLCs are meant to be done with a late midgame character and a lot of speech checks overlap so you can pass them with multiple different skills

But that's literally his entire gimmick that you can end up resolving with his last Speech check. He thought he became a different, better man, but in truth he didn't change at all. Ulysses even hints at this too when he copes about why he never went after Joshua. You help him realize this, that he called his own battles God's battles instead of the other way around to justify his actions.

Isn't that hipocrisy kind of the point the writer wanted to get across? that's how it felt to me, especially with how Daniel really tries to oppose him, it's something the writers want you to be thinking about, he's not presented as some moral paragon of virtue
