What exactly does this accomplish?

Andross was obsessed with mechas, most of his creations suffer from several weakpoits which would have been avoided if he had focused on creating a solid design, but I guess being a brain floating in space forced him to develop several mental issues such as body dysmorphia causing him to imprint his unresolved desires on all his designs.

Idk if it's because I've been playing the PC port lately, but on the n64 version the shogun is so fucking annoying despite the quick kill time. The brain is retarded. The only strategy I've found that works is to drop altitude, make sure he gets as close as possible, do a somersault, then fire away until he teleports. Rinse and repeat. Alternatively, you can trying the cornering method but his pathing is so cancer it sometimes takes actual minutes before you can line up a good shot.

To test out it's heat resistance and durability traits, it's just genetic engineering experiments to take and use elsewhere.
