I want to ask anti AI fags if there's an "ethical" or whatever you wanna call it, way to use AI.
I figured out I can still make most of my assets using my art skills, but then have like 1% of the assets, like the waifu portratis that need to be super polished, unlike the ingame props that could simply be photobashed to generate a really polished AI illustration.
But then I also could train it on my own drawings to have my own personal lora.
I think that could be more or less an ethical way to use AI in my games.
Anti ai fags (aka seething artists and redditors) will HATE you for using ANY amount of ai. No matter how much you explain yourself or try to rationalize it. The best thing to do is to just use it and never admit to it. Ai has gotten good enough now that most chuds can't even tell its Ai at first glance. If your slop looks too much like slop it's a genuine skill issue at this point.
>ethics
you dont care about ethics and morals, and neither do i. if you did, you'd take the next plane to ukraine or gaza or whatever and fight invaders or go live in africa building churches and hospitals. dont kid yourself anon. posting on 4chan about AI is hardly a surrogate for 'ethical life choices.'
it's not (just) about ethics, it's a sign that you have little to no skills
if you don't appreciate real art you'll never make a different kind of art no matter what, the fact that you're stealing art is one issue you might ignore, sure, but ultimately you are proving that you cannot handle the human spirit and all it can create and need to rely on mass produced mass appeal images that are cheap and easy to pump out, using AI in your art is like "making" a dinner by using nothing but mcdonalds food as your ingredients, there's no value, no intent, no passion, no skill, complete and utter commie slop for people who cannot handle the inherent meritocracy of a skill and instead want everything mass produced on the same level for them
just focus on making it look good. i think you know by now nobody really minds ai art. luddites have to try so hard to get people on their side.
>>712540659>reduction ad absurdumwow, nice argumentation shit, retard
>>712540971>coloreds dying on the other side of the world are absurdi agree. very based, anon
The only ethical use of AI is voice actor replacement.
>>712541067>AI is petty crimeand you had the gall to call me a retard. forgot your image by the way
>he's so angry he cant even type straight
take a break
>>712540149 (OP)If you can train AI on your art alone, it would be better. Lazy, but better. Using AI for mundane shit like translation or anything not creative is also fine.
>>712540149 (OP)>ethicalwrong word to use. if you want to be transparent, then just say outright that you used AIslop as the basis for your game. now listen, the standards for you won't be as strenuous as they will be for corporate america, people will really be scrutinizing how big publishers use AI, because that will have the capacity to actually define industry/consumer trends and play with people's careers. you? a single person, an indie nobody? nobody (necessarily) cares, but then again they didn't have any expectations for you to begin with. just be ready to have people call you a hack, because you mostly are. also the product you make will most likely be shit without the direction of an actual artist who knows how to take AIsloppa and orchestrate it into something resembling an aesthetic.
I'm saying people won't buy it unless it's good somehow (it won't be)
As someone who's largely anti-AI
>>712541396's stance on it is most of what I'm willing to accept in a product these days. If can use GenAI on artwork you created that's all fine and dandy but using in the way most people are right now opens up major data rights issues (and possible legal issues depending on which way that lawsuit Disney an Universal filed against Midjourney).
>>712540149 (OP)It literally doesn't matter, Inzoi uses AI in a way that compliments that type of game pretty well and they went out of their way to do the training shit all in house with legally acquired material only and everything and anti-AI luddites shat on it all the same regardless and unironically started shilling for Sims 4 as an example of soul. you can't win with these people. AI is just a buzzword in the culture war to them.
>>712541831its great when you realize literally every aritst complaining about AI on twitter has absolutely zero grasp on anatomy or other basic principles of artistry. me on the other hand, editing hands in photoshop has taught me so much, and i have AI to thank for it
>>712541795not op but is it the data rights that bother you?
i would have expected anti-ai guys to be more concerned with... deteriorating quality, lower expected standards, frequent mistakes being overlooked, that sort of thing. corporate data right conflicts seems pretty far from what gamers would care about
So where is the limit for using AI to help make your game? If you use AI to make something like background object 3D models, is that a step too far?
>>712541980It's both, because when you can obviously tell what's being ripped it just looks lazy and opens the whole thing to being copyright struck. AI continues to improve, so bad quality is a temporary issue in the technical sense, but nothing will fix a lack of creativity or imagination.
>>712540149 (OP)Ok, now make a 40yo brown man kiss them.
>>712542174As long as it doesn't look like shit
>>712540406this, they're literally the same as trannies who are never satisfied no matter how many concessions they get
oh wait, they're literally the exact same trannies, who'd have thought!
>>712542186in writing, ai is better at creativity and imagination than human writers. therefore i don't think creativity and imagination will be the bottleneck here.
i think that the problem of looking like it's ripped off is very temporary
>>712540149 (OP)No.
For anti-AI fags to be satisfied you need to pay them or their friends for a shitty commission.
You donโt want that.
