I found a peculiar demo during next fest called Hunters Inc, a dollar store Monster Hunter with orcs. It's a bit janky, but it has an actual artstyle instead of looking like an asset store flip and there aren't gaudy shaders all over the place.
There was also Slime Heroes but for 30 dollars it's unbuyable despite being quite nice and cute.

Shitting on Denuvo used to be popular because it had REAL significant performance issues. People complained about the performance hits, & not the fact that denuvo existed. When they fixed them or made it negligible, the majority of people stopped caring, because the real reason they were complaining (performance) was no longer a problem.
