At least they wont retcon the story of the first game this way and if the combat is really more action focused with a similar build freedom of the first game I'll take it. I think the art style still looks similar with realistic surroundings but then anime characters for character models. Since it's Shift and Lou seems to have some sort of heart connection to the MC there is a 100% chance that she will sacrifice herself at the end.

I remember how people struggled with Mido and I first tried him with constant stagger using Dammerung together with Io. So much stupid crap you could do with all the options. Sadly a lot of stuff was pretty bad towards the end.

nta it was fun, played it with a friend for the most part. The music was insanely good, the character creator, the NPCs, the combat was solid. Blood Codes were broken fun. I liked the overdramatic dream segments. The only real flaw are the levels, barren, enemies sprinkled around. Nothing to do but search for glowing dots.
It was the perfect game for playing an edgy anime character. It's not a Souls clone its a Nioh clone and somehow soulsfags are mad its too easy if you don't ignore all the broken shit and followers.

I can see Bandai make the mistake to balance the game, completely turning it into a generic Souls game with gacha Anime graphics.

yeah I played it without ever taking a follower and I thought it was a decently challenging game, only 1 boss felt a bit bullshit without a follower and I had to cheese, but that also had to do with my build being very illsuited for that boss so I had to change shit up (which was easy to do).

Hopefully they clean up the combat some. The lack of weight behind the weapons was one of my main gripes with CV1.
