So these games take place in a separate continuity from the rest of the series, right? There's no way they're connected at all.

Your confusion is fair. Because for several years Nintendo lied and even sold their lie for actual money.

For actual decades both Miyamoto and Aonuma told everyone that there was a timeline and that they were keeping track of it. The first red flag should've been the Hero Dies timeline in the Hyrule Historia. The second red flag should've been the interview where Aonuma claimed there was a timeline but he doesn't tell the team making the game because he doesn't want them looking for connections based on timeline placement. The third red flag should've been Creating A Champion when they said that everything prior to Breath of the Wild was so far away and disconnected from history that it's unknown which timeline BotW was connected to. But Tears of the Kingdom was the last straw. Because it fucked up the timeline so deeply that it completely uprooted the lies Aonuma has been selling you for $34.99. There was no timeline. Everyone's efforts were for nothing and Aonuma doesn't even like connecting events

No.
It's just that ALL the Zelda games are time-wimey retcons of past games.

BotW actually confirms quite a many OoT and SS lore things:

>Lon Lon Ranch's ruins can be found
>The Shrines you visit in SS can be found on BotW's map
>Temple of Time + Deku Tree shenanigas
>Gerudo's shocked to know that Ganon was once a Gerudo male
>Places are named after past game's main characters.

Ok you've listed a number of empty easter eggs, what are they confirming?
Anonymous No.712603618

Yes, they were just supposed to be their own thing with a bunch of references and easter eggs for fun, but since timeline retards wouldn't be satisfied they just threw that it takes place so far in the future that it doesn't matter

lon lon ranch having any sort of ruins tens of thousands of years after OoT isn't a lore bit, it's just fanservice

You're putting more thought into it than Nintendo did.

Nothing. Prior to TotK where Aonuma tacitly told people trying to patch together Hyrule's history to get fucked, the logic was that the previous games to Breath of the Wild was relegated to the "Age of Myths." Little Easter eggs like the Temple of Time and the Breach of Demise were scattered all across Hyrule, with no way of knowing which ones are actual history and which ones are distorted legends invented by townsfolk. But after TotK everyone threw their hands up and said fuck it. TotK not only doesn't agree with any of the previous games, TotK didn't even agree with BotW.

In this case, yes. Until you tell me what they confirm about the game then they have no substance.

Gerudo lady literally states that yes - the Calamity Ganon = Ganon from OoT = Ganondorf.

The Royal Family also has a tradition of prepping their princesses for the triforce of wisdom stuff.
Last but not least: the Master Sword is confirmed to be THE Fi.

why did nintendo even bother with that retarded historia one then

I really need you to understand the time abyss that is Wild Hyrule's history. The last time Calamity Ganon appeared was 100 years ago. At that point it was imprisoned by Zelda and held hostage until Link could wake up. People to that, the last time Calamity Ganon appeared was 10,000 years ago. Ten Thousand Years. With 4 zeros. To put that in perspective, IRL humans only just discovered farming 10,000 years ago. In universe, Hyrule was a futuristic city that discovered engines that can create infinite power and created robots that remain functional after eons without use. Which then fell and was rebuilt. And by that point, Calamity Ganon was considered a natural disaster that could be predicted and countered. So the battle 10,000 years ago was one of many.

And you claim that a wooden fence created by farmers, can still exist after a time period that frankly rests in cosmic terms.

No.

How to tell people that you're an American without saying it out loud.

Well it wasn't just the Hyrule Historia.

>For every Zelda game we tell a new story, but we actually have an enormous document that explains how the game relates to the others, and bind them together.

If Aonuma didn't want to deal with a timeline, he should've just said that there isn't one. Miyamoto never claimed there was a Mario timeline. But Aonuma lied and Miyamoto lied abs both of them just kept lying until they got sick of answering fans questions. But if you don't want fans asking questions, why not just stop lying?

>Gerudo lady literally states that yes - the Calamity Ganon = Ganon from OoT = Ganondorf
Which makes fuck all sense

Means absolutely nothing, the people of Outset have a tradition of dressing their boys in green tunics, it doesn't prove a link between them and anything else
>the Master Sword is confirmed to be THE Fi
The Master Sword is hinted to be THE Fi

Don't try to make sense of this nonsense storyline, you'll frustrate yourself trying.

>the original master sword was able to kill Demise and every single incarnation of Ganon, except for TOTK Ganondorf, who can just destroy it by touching it
>even Ganon from Wind Waker couldn't destroy the sword, despite it being depowered.
>but this ganondorf is some super eldritch ultra powerful being that can fend off the most powerful weapon of evil's bane
>but it spends a few years in dragon zelda and now it can kill him

So Ganon can just casually destroy the weapon that killed Demise himself.

For what it is worth they may as well do, the timeline is a stupid proposition because they never give a shit about staying consistent between games and the games constantly contradict each other so unless a game is specifically presented as a direct sequel, like Phantom Hourglass or Majora's Mask, then it's pointless to try to place it in a timeline.

Also this Ganondorf is the same one as OoT
Anonymous No.712605046

The Master Sword didn't kill Demise, part of him was sealed in the sword and part of him flew away to be reincarnated, Fi's inability to come back out of the sword is because she's still containing that part of Demise that is in it.

I desperately want to know what the Secret Stones even are. Because apparently these random ass walnuts are superior in strength to the Triforce of Power. Ganondorf being fueled by the Triforce of Power gets duffed by the Master Sword every time but Secret Stone can break it with no effort?

Zelda games about time suck
Zelda games about alternate dimensions rule
Zelda games about the ocean are the best
