Speaking of the soundtrack, I need to state my one complaint, that they should have cut the mentions of the word clair-obscur in the lyrics by a good 50%. It makes some songs like Lumière a bit goofy.
But keep it for the game over theme, the timing and foreshadowing on the title drop is perfect.

why the fuck do all the characters have that weird look? it's something to do with the eyes, they just look unnatural and makes them all look batshit insane or high as fuck.

There is a very real chance that Bloodlines 2 is going to swoop in and snag a lot of the awards related to RPGs and possibly GOTY.

You have a small, up-and-coming studio working their assess of to make a good game vs an industry veteran that at this point runs on recognizability alone. You'd give that award to the up-and-coming underdog if only to incentivize the rest of the young developers to follow suit.

Verso's ending is better for Alicia too.
She was becoming a monster, deluded in much more ways than Aline.
Verso even asks her at the end why she can't just go out and return once in a while, but all she sees is Renoir erasing the canvas. She asks her father to trust her, but she doesn't want to offer him the same trust.
In her ending she is just a control monster, she doesn't even restore Verso's painted family, just keeps everyone under her control, including Lune and Sciel who would never agree willingly with the piano scene, and keeps tormenting Verso. She isn't even happy, all you see in her expressions is sorrow, a fake smile and desperation.
In Verso's ending, at his grave, she is smiling honestly, she moved on with both Verso's death and leaving the canvas behind, she's finally at peace and with her family.

Verso is rarely even lying, he is withholding information. Generally when he is questioned by Lune or the party, he tells the truth, even about Gustave, despite the shitstorm that followed.
He doesn't outright tell everything because he has been betrayed by previous expeditions. But his goal has always been to save the people of the canvas, and to get Aline out. How could he explain his goals to any resident of the canvas, how would they understand all of that, how would they react to finding out they aren't even real?
Through all he still sticks with Maelle against his own father, he makes it clear many times that he doesn't want the canvas or its people destroyed. It only becomes the last resort when at the end of the game he has lost everyone and Alicia is obviously turning into a manipulative monster, the only way to help his sister was to destroy the canvas and take away the source of her delusions.

Are they? The game just assumes they processed their grief offscreen, becuase we haven't seen any of that in the game proper. It's fine and all that in order to make the ending work, the game goes "it turned out fine, don't think about it", but it doesn't change the fact that Alicia is still a cripple, Clea is still a raging turbocunt, Aline is still emotionally unstable and Renoir is still a controlling asshole. We've just removed a symptom of their grief, without addressing the cause. And if Renoir wasn't a stubborn idiot, he could've gone to that point without destroying the canvas in the first place.
