>the Gamecube version was better than PS2 version even though it had shitty balancing changes, no widescreen, a shitty nub for camera movement, worse atmosphere, less scary sound, and less content
Why are cubesnoys like this?

Visually it did look better but yeah in every other metric GC version was only notable for being the first version.
The best of course is PC version with HD mod. Best of both worlds like in-game cutscenes while also retaining the extra content.
Gamecube's balance was funny as fuck to play with though. Like only carrying a magnum because of how the old ammo weighting system used to work.

When people think of RE4 and its gameplay, they think of the PS2 version and all future ports.

The NTSC Gamecube version had shitty balancing changes exclusive to that region and platform that never came back in any other version.

Nah, they think the Gamecube version since that's the only version that existed for like 2 years. Every other version was just a port after the hype died down.
If you really want to play a console version these days, you want to emulate the Wii version anyway.

There's no such thing as cubesnoys. In the early 2000s they called the console kiddy trash and shat on Nintendo for months after Jeff Gerstmann gave Twilight Princess an 8.8

>8.8
That has to be the weirdest event in vidya history. Both nintendo and anti-nintendo people were losing their shit over it treating it as the worst/greatest thing ever. Even if a game is a solid 10 out of 10, statistically, you're going to get variance from a few reviews that lie within one standard deviation. And 8.8. is perfectly within that range.
Its the biggest mountain out of a molehill I've ever seen

Best version was the xbox version because thatโ€™s the one I played. The one you played was a shitty version only a faggot like you would bother talking about.

Worst balancing in the GC version? Are you retarded? Your shitty PS2 version couldn't even display more than 6 enemies on screen at once. Meanwhile, they also had their polygon counts severely reduced.

Sit down, be humble. The PS2 version is trash

Just woke up, feeling a little nostalgic this morning.

I'll always remember the hype for this game, it was unreal. Obviously nothing can compare to Halo 3, but this is a very close second. You had blurry videos coming out of trade shows people would analyze and go full sperg over. People losing their shit on Gamefaqs after being invited to try it. Then news dropped that Gamestop would be having playable demos in store.

Like, announcing that you could play the demo at another Gamestop location was an event. And ours got one and we drove over there in my friends shitbox that had a roof leak fucking somehow that we ended up making a detour to the store to tape up and we made it, and there was a bit of a crowd but we got our turn and it was so damn fun. Easy pre-order. I couldn't wait.

People were actually buying Gamecubes as they made their pre-order, and this did become a common thing since Gamecube was only $100 at the time. This game for sure is responsible in a big bump in the Gamecube sales numbers. X Play mentioned doing it in their review as well I remember.

Just miss those days. Or, maybe just miss being young.

The Wii version was objectively the best version. Using the remote to aim at the screen and shoot was fun.

Gamespot was considered the gospel of video game journalism back then. Also Sony fanboys ostracized me as a jobless loser when I was 15 at the time. I don't get it.

It does make the game easier, and Krauser in particular becomes busted in Mercenaries, but the motion controls were genuinely a lot of fun. It's my favorite version.
