I really like what they did with RE2 Remake, if you slowed it down, made monsters an even bigger threat and brought back resource management it could be a great compromise. Just no dodge button of any kind. It should also be possible to have some interesting camera angles without necessarily compromising on the camera controls, with for example cutscenes transitioning into one of those shots to draw attention and when you start moving the camera transitions back behind.

They said back then they were going to expand the mythos of the series by exploring horror in the daylight. we could have gotten a new element of phenomena that interacts with the power of the town but be also separate which becomes its own mystery. But we were denied that and we got Silent Hill: Homecoming that took those scrapes ideas for something familiar. that's also the reason why we have gotten many bad games afterwards. Because Konami made those decisions. we don't even have a basic foundation due to them not understanding the series.
